Frequently Asked Questions
1. How much does it cost to build a website?
The cost of designing a website can vary depending on various factors such as the complexity of the design, the number of pages and the functionality needed. A simple website with a few pages and basic features might cost less than a more complex website with multiple pages and advanced features like custom database integration. It's important for me to have a clear understanding of the project requirements and budget before starting the design process. I usually provide a free consultation and quote to help the client understand the costs involved.
2. How long does it take to build a website?
The time required for building a website can vary greatly depending on the complexity of the project. The number of pages, the level of custom features and the need for content creation all play a role in determining the length of the project. A basic brochure-style website can typically be completed within 2-4 weeks, whereas a more complex website with custom features may take several months to complete. It is important for me to have a clear understanding of the project scope and timeline by discussing it with the client during the initial consultation.
3. Can you help with search engine optimization (SEO)?
I can help with search engine optimization (SEO) by ensuring that the website is optimized for search engines. I can include elements such as title tags, meta descriptions, header tags, and keyword-rich content to help the website rank higher on search engine results pages (SERPs). Additionally, I can also help with technical SEO, such as making sure the website is mobile-friendly, has a fast loading speed, and has a good structure and organization.
4. How do you handle updates and maintenance for my website?
I understand the importance of keeping a website up-to-date and running smoothly. That's why I offer a variety of website maintenance and update plans to fit the needs of my clients. If the client chooses to have monthly maintenance, I can offer plans that are tailored to the complexity of the design and features of the website. We will work together to determine a monthly cost for this service, which will be discussed during the initial consultation.
Once a plan is in place, I will regularly visit the site to update any features that are out of date and to ensure that all processes are running smoothly. This includes checking for and implementing software updates, monitoring for and troubleshooting any technical issues, and ensuring that the website's content is current and accurate. I will also perform regular backups to protect the website's data.
By having a regular maintenance plan in place, you can rest assured that your website will be running at its best and that your business will be represented in the best possible way online. I am committed to providing my clients with the best possible service and support to ensure that their website is always up-to-date, secure, and running smoothly.
5. Can you integrate e-commerce functionality on my website?
I do not currently offer the integration of e-commerce functionality on websites.
6. What is your process for designing a website?
1. Initial consultation: During this initial meeting, I will discuss the project with the client to gather information about their business, their target audience, and their goals for the website.
2. Research and Planning: I will conduct research on the client's industry, competitors, and target audience to gather information that will inform the design and development of the website.
3. Wireframe and Design: I will create wireframes, which are basic layouts of the website that outline the structure and organization of the content. I will then create mock-ups, which are visual representations of the website design, for the client to review and provide feedback on.
4. Development: Once the design is approved, I will begin the development process, building the website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
5. Testing and Quality Assurance: I will test the website for any bugs or technical issues, and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that the website is functioning correctly.
6. Launch and Maintenance: I will launch the website and provide ongoing maintenance and support as needed.
This process is flexible and can be adjusted to suit the specific needs of the project and the client.
7. Do you provide website source files?
Yes, I provide source files to my clients. These files include the original design files such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch or any other design software that I use to create the design for the website. These files can be useful for the client in case they need to make changes to the website design in the future or if they want to use the design for other purposes.
It's also important to note that I provide all the source code of the website, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other programming languages that are used to develop the website, in order to make it easier for the client or any other developer to make changes or updates to the website in the future. This can be delivered in form of a zip file or by giving access to a version control system like Git.
Additionally, I also provide any other assets that are used in the website such as images, videos, icons, etc. in their original format.
